How we score software
Every score is calculated the same way from the facts on each vendor's page. Sponsor status, paid listings and referral links are not inputs, and an automated test checks that on every change.
The rubric (100 points)
- Feature coverage: 60 points. 14 core capabilities. Included counts fully, partial or paid add-on counts half, and anything unverified counts as zero until it is checked.
- Pricing transparency: 25 points. Published pricing earns 70% of this, a free trial the remaining 30%.
- User ratings: 15 points. The average of G2, Capterra and GetApp ratings, each with its date.
How facts are kept current
A research agent re-checks each vendor against its own website on a rolling schedule and proposes changes with links to its sources. A person reviews every change before it is published. Each section shows its source and the date it was last verified. Scores marked “provisional” rely on facts that are not verified yet.
Corrections
Vendors can claim their listing to propose corrections. Corrections are checked against a public source like any other change.
